After earning a degree in electronics in 1982, Ken began his career by doing hearing aid repairs. As a hearing device user since he was eight and now with over 30 years of experience fitting hearing aids, Ken personally understands the unique problems and solutions associated with hearing loss and hearing devices.
Scott A. Morris, HIS
Hearing Instrument Specialist – Lic. H.A. 7657
Scott is a sixth-generation Trinity County native, who has been with our office for eighteen years, first as a patient and currently as a Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser. Scott not only fits, programs, and adjusts hearing aids, he also performs annual evaluations and hearing aid cleanings in Redding as well as our office in Weaverville.

If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Christa, you know she is enthusiastic about helping the hard of hearing. She consistently goes out of her way to help each individual. Christa performs comprehensive hearing aid evaluations, takes care to listen to each individual’s desires, lifestyle and budget, and provides her extensive knowledge in choosing the right hearing devices. She fits, adjusts and instructs patients on maintenance care for hearing devices as well, offering a unique experience for each patient.
Joshua Fockler, HIS
Hearing Instrument Specialist – Lic. H.A. 7449
Joshua has been a Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser for over 10 years. He has spent years training and managing other hearing aid dispensers through the licensing process. He also brings to our team years of experience performing Real-Ear Measurement verification and industry recognized validation methods. He believes that “all the good stuff” in life comes from relationships, and loves counseling his patients and their family members on realistic expectations and effective communication. Joshua works in our Redding and Susanville locations.
Carole Grinton
Patient Representative
Carole joined Up-State Hearing Instruments in 2009. She comes to us via Santa Mateo County with over 34 years of experience in the medical field. Carole contributes to our mission by professionally managing patients. She graciously and deftly handles inquiries and everything else that comes her way. Carole enjoys camping, boating, and fishing with her family.

Patient Representative
Rene is warm and welcoming when greeting patients in our Chico office. She supports Christa with walk-in patients, coordinates repairs, and many other tasks to keep our Chico location running optimally. Rene says she finds UpState Hearing “a happy place to be, where each patient is treated like a part of the family.” She was raised in Chico, then moved to Orland in 1993. Outside of the office, she enjoys life in the country with her husband, horses, dogs, cats, and chickens.
Annie Bakaleinikoff

Annie greets patients and answers the phone in the Redding office. She loves to make people feel welcome and comfortable during their visit. She is also the person who will call to remind you of your appointment in Redding, Red Bluff, Susanville, or Weaverville.
Julie
Lab Tech
Julie joined UpState Hearing in August of 2019 as a Lab Tech for our Redding Office. Julie cleans hearing aids and assists with minor repairs. She processes orders for hearing aids and equipment, and support our dispensers to ensure timely and efficient service. Outside of work, Julie enjoys being outdoors, working on DIY projects, and spending time with her family and pets.
