UpState Hearing is celebrating 25+ years!
What a wonderful journey it has been.

All of us at UpState Hearing Instruments are proud to celebrate this milestone. Serving our customers and their families brings us so much joy each day.

Feeling a bit nostalgic and sentimental today! 25 years ago we closed escrow on the purchase of UpState Hearing here in Redding. Where has the time gone?! I feel extremely fortunate to find such a rewarding career that has fit me so perfectly. Coincidentally, I started working in the business in Paradise on April 1st 1984, so April Fool’s Day is a very significant date in my career, no joke!

I feel both proud and humbled by the growth we have achieved over the last 25 years. We have without a doubt the best staff of 7 passionate and dedicated people and now serve in 4 locations.

25-year anniversaryThe people who are hard of hearing that we serve have been extremely loyal and supportive of us, and I can’t begin to express the gratitude I have for their support and friendship over the last 25 years.

Thank you and cheers to another 25 years!

25 Years of Technological Advancements

There have been some significant advancements over the last 25 years. In 1997 the very first digital hearing aid came out from Oticon, but an even bigger improvement for user satisfaction was the very first truly “open ear” hearing aid from Vivatone in 2004. Now 80 percent of all our hearing aids are open ear with the speaker in the ear.

Over the last 25 years as technology has improved, our ability to really address the needs of the hard of hearing has improved. UpState Hearing Instruments is much more of a user-driven company and our decisions are based on “what is the best for the hard of hearing”.

Hearing Aids and Cultural Acceptance

Hearing aids are a much more accepted and used today than ever before. Seems like everyone knows about hearing aids and knows someone who wears them. It is also much more competitive today then ever and that is a good thing for the consumer, albeit a little confusing at times. People better understand the need to hear well and connect with their family friends and coworkers for a better quality of life.
